Things To Do in Harrington & Crowdy Head
Located at the entrance of the Manning River, the Harrington & Crowdy Head area offers great beaches, boutique shopping, local eateries and a premium 9-hole golf course. A paradise for both local and non-local fisherman alike, there are plenty of opportunities to pull in a great catch of the day at the protected boat harbour, break wall, river estuary or ocean

Harrington Beaches
Harrington Beach consists of 5.6km of pristine white sand, that stretches from Harrington to the picturesque fishing village of Crowdy Head. Offering perfect conditions for various recreational activities such as surfing, body boarding and fishing.
This area is home to some of the best fishing waters in the area where you will find snapper, bream, blackfish and whiting.
Harrington Lagoon
Located near the breakwall, Harrington Lagoon is a popular swimming spot for families during the warmer months, with BBQ access, picnic tables and toilets it’s the perfect place for a relaxed outing. While the area is unpatrolled, there are no waves here and shallow waters, making it safe for families with young children. You'll also find a grassy picnic area, perfect for games.


Crowdy Head Beaches
The beautiful area of Crowdy Head is located on a vast expanse of unspoilt beaches, made up of two popular beaches at the North and South sides.
The North Beach is a well-protected beach and a great spot for families. The Surf Lifesaving Club overlooks the beach and patrols operate here during the summer months. There is a kiosk, outdoor shower and toilet facilities. Picnic area with barbecues and picnic tables all close by.
Crowdy Bay National Park
This is a magnificent spot admired by many locals and guests who holiday here, purely for its coastline cliffs, rockpools, beaches and forests which are a retreat for all the wildlife you will come across. During your holiday, we recommend going for a wander at low tide as it is the perfect time to discover the rock formations and pools with the children. There are plenty of fishing spots for everyone and places for swimming, water skiing and surfing. From here you can visit the nearby Crowdy Gap, Kylie’s Beach, Indian Head and Diamond Head.

Cattai Wetlands
One of our favourite spots, on the Mid-Coast, the Cattai Wetlands is just a short drive north on the Pacific Highway, an absolute must for all visitors to the area.
Coopernook State Forest
Just a stone's throw away from the heart of Harrington, Coopernook State Forest is an open and peaceful reserve surrounded by local flora and fauna.
Coorabakh National Park
Studded with volcanic outcroppings, Coorabakh National Park offers scenic views as well as hiking, picnicking and birdwatching opportunities.
Local Lookouts
There are a number of amazing lookouts in the area, Pilot Hill Lookout located in Harrington is a popular spot for visitors looking for expansive coastal and river views.
Local Fishing
Both Harrington and Crowdy Head are an angler’s paradise. Offering beach, deep-sea, breakwall or river fishing, there are plenty of fishing spots to cast your line.
Local Waterfalls
There are so many natural falls and waterways to visit in the Barrington region, including the stunning Waitui Falls, Ellenborough Falls and Gloucester Falls.
